Life cycle

The project life cycle refers to all the stages, decisions, and mechanisms involved in transforming a region’s potential into a network of trails that offer users high-quality experiences. It provides a framework for moving from a vision to concrete infrastructure, services, and trails, ensuring alignment between the project’s objectives, the characteristics of the environment, management capacities, and the expectations of different audiences.

It is based on two inseparable loops. The development loop structures the evaluation, design, preparation, and construction of trails to create coherent, safe, and attractive routes. The operation loop then ensures the governance, maintenance, safety, reception, communication, and evolution of the network in order to preserve the quality of the experience over time. Together, these two dimensions form a continuous improvement process, where planning, development, and management reinforce each other to offer users sustainable, memorable experiences that are adapted to changing practices.

Breaking point

Regular maintenance of the network is recommended to preserve the quality of the infrastructure.

Breaking point

If the network is not functioning optimally, the breaking point is when the quality and functionality of the project begin to deteriorate significantly. This gradual deterioration limits their use and ultimately leads to the end of their useful life.
